Patch 7.3 PTR: Raiding With Leashes V....?!

UPDATE: Possibly 18 new pet NPCs on Argus, similar to the Tanaan Jungle legendary NPCs? Thanks to @patf0rd and Paladance on WarcraftPets Discord for pointing this out.

Developer Jeremy Feasel also noted:

Can't wait to check these new Pet Battles out!

! → Also, additional updates on RWLV color-changers and Celestial Calf down below.

-----------------------

This week was a big surprise for pet collectors - Raiding With Leashes V: Cuteaclysm popped up on the 7.3 PTR! The previous Raiding With Leashes IV was released in Patch 7.1, so the next installment wasn't expected so soon. What a wonderful surprise! :D

Collectors will need to obtain 15 new pets from Cataclysm-era raids, and upon collecting them all will be rewarded with Amalgam of Destruction.

Here's a break down of the pets and which raid/boss they'll drop from. Image heavy warning!

Blackwing Descent (3 pets)

Discarded Experiment - Maloriak

Rattlejaw - Nefarian

Tinytron - Magmatron

Dragon Soul (3 pets)

Corrupted Blood - Spine of Deathwing

Faceless Mindlasher - Yorsahj

Unstable Tendril - Deathwing

Firelands (4 pets)

Blazehound - Shannox

Cinderweb Recluse - Beth'tilac

Infernal Pyreclaw - Majordomo Staghelm

Surger - Baleroc

The Bastion of Twilight (3 pets)

Bound Stream - Elementium Monstrosity

Faceless Minion - Cho'gall

Twilight Clutch-Sister - Valiona

Throne of the Four Winds (2 pets)

Drafty - Nezir

Zephyrian Prince - Al'Akir

Currently there's a bug with two of items, Elementium Back Plate (Spine of Deathwing, Dragon Soul) and Smoldering Treat (Shannox, Firelands) - these two have a chance to teach the incorrect pet. Former SHOULD yield Corrupted Blood, but it has a chance to teach Surger instead. Latter SHOULD yield Blazehound, but it has a chance to teach Drafty instead. So if you're testing the RWLV pets on the PTR, be wary of using these two items (for now). Hopefully they'll get fixed in a future PTR build!

I've only just begun testing some of the new RWLV pets, and unfortunately I haven't noticed any unique/new interactions or idle animations. Then again, I haven't been testing for very long.

However, I did notice that the Twilight Clutch-Sister has two different skins, and can spawn in as either when summoned.

The darker blue/purple one (left) is the default skin, and the lighter purple one is its secondary.

UPDATE on RWLV color-changers (July 31): Apparently there are 2 different color-types. One where it's color-changer on summon, another where the pet has a static color upon adding to Pet Journal (but comes in different skins).

Developer Jeremey Feasel clarified that Tinytron is the former, and Clutch-Sister is the latter. Testing on the PTR has made it apparent that the Clutch-Sister isn't behaving as it should though.

-----------------------

Another notable change on the PTR - Celestial Calf will be cageable in 7.3.

The Celestial Calf is the million gold vendor pet that is currently NOT cageable. However, this might change next patch. This change could be reverted prior to patch release, so we'll have to wait and see.

I feel fairly indifferent about the change, however I am concerned that dupers will have a field day with this pet. It's a minor concern in the overall picture though. If this pet is cageable, and even if dupers get their dirty hands on it, it may mean more collectors will have a chance to collect the Celestial Calf. Which, in my opinion, is a good thing. So long as collectors don't get scammed out of their gold, that is.

UPDATE on Celestial Calf (July 31): It sounds like developers have changed their mind about the change to cageable in 7.3.

That's it for this PTR build. What a doozy it was! 16 new pets! RWLV! What have we done to warrant this amazingness?! *_*
